Move for Zoë – Fundraising

Family and friends of ex King’s School pupil and Centre member Zoë Bromfield are engaging in various sporting events to raise money for Blood Cancer UK.

2023 is the year that Zoë would have turned 30 and her family are commemorating her life by a year-long series of fund-raising events. In August 2019 Zoë suffered a brain haemorrhage brought on by an acute and previously undetected Leukemia. She died after 25 days in a coma in intensive care without ever recovering consciousness. Her Leukemia might have been treatable but because it was discovered late she was denied that chance. Early detection of Leukemia in any form is key to successful outcomes for victims and they are supporting Blood Cancer UK who are a community dedicated to beating blood cancer by funding research and supporting those affected.

On the 4th & 5th February, Zoë’s family and friends has organised a “Move for Zoë” Weekend, this includes:

Saturday 4th February includes an exercise class led by an local professional fitness instructor, which is available to attend in person or via zoom. There will also be an alternative run on offer. These events will be followed by coffee/tea and cakes. There will be no fee to participate, the family are asking for a voluntary donation to Blood Cancer UK on the day or via their JustGiving page.

On Sunday 5th February, a team have entered the London Winter 10km Run, this includes a Hawkinge Hurricane team.

In addition to this, other events will be held later in the year.

If you would like to donate, raise sponsorship or share the fundraising page, please visit our JustGiving page.

Any support for these amazing events will be gratefully received, Zoë’s parents Katrina and Nick will be happy to provide any further information.
