Amal’s 100km cycle to support KAB

Centre Member Amal, is planning to cycle 100km in aid of Kent Association for the Blind.

Amal will attempt to cycle on a resistance bike at The King’s School Recreation Centre to complete her challenge, with her aim to complete it by the start of December 2020.

Amal is physically disabled, her mobility and energy levels are limited, furthermore she only started exercising in the gym from Autumn 2019. So Josh, her Fitness Instructor agreed that completing this distance over a period of time, will allow her rest periods and times when she may be unwell.

This ride will be a real personal challenge for her, so if you would like to support Amal with her fundraising, please follow this link.

Kent Association for the Blind

100 years ago, soldiers returned from World War I blinded by the effects of mustard gas or shrapnel. Kent Association for the Blind was set up to support these war wounded soldiers – helping them to rehabilitate back into society. Today their work is needed more so than ever. Only 4% of people who are registered sight impaired are completely blind, so they help people make the most of the sight they have. They can help with mobility training and advice on gadgets to make the simplest of tasks seems less difficult.

We wish Amal all the very best of luck with the ride and will be supporting her all the way!
