Coach Sam | England Basketball Girl’s U16
Canterbury Kings Head Basketball Coach Sam was extremely proud and honoured to be called up as team manager/assistant coach for the England Girl’s Basketball U16 team who attended the Four Nations Tournament in Dublin, Ireland. The tournament took place from the 3rd – 7th April 2023.
The England U16 Team swept the 2023 Four Nations Tournament with three wins from three in Dublin. They sealed the tournament triumph with a decisive 73-61 victory over the hosts and defending champions Ireland on Thursday to back up wins over Scotland and Wales from the opening day.
Sam said “The standard of Basketball was high throughout the weekend, the girls stepped up and united together which resulted in three outstanding team performances to take the gold medal. It was a fantastic experience that I thoroughly enjoyed, it was great to represent Canterbury Kings on the international stage and help contribute towards the growth of girls basketball within the UK”.
