Congratulations Nik…

Our Assistant Fitness Manager recently passed his assessments to become a UKSCA Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach and join as an accredited member of the UK Strength and Conditioning Association.

The Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach (ASCC) assessment day tests the coach’s knowledge and practical coaching skills across four areas:

1. Multiple choice examination
2. Case study presentation
3. Weight lifting practical assessment
4. Plyometric/ballistic & speed/agility practical coaching assessment

The case study section allowed Nik to demonstrate his programme planning and his knowledge was tested through a multiple-choice written paper. His technical coaching ability was examined through a weight lifting and plyometrics practical coaching assessment.

High Standards

The current pass rate for first-time candidates for the multiple choice examination and case study presentation is in the region of 50%. And 25% for the weight lifting and plyometrics, agility & speed coaching assessments.

This is a very highly recognised qualification for strength and conditioning coaches and very few pass all aspects first time round. So outstanding work and commitment from Nik to pass on his first attempt.

Along with this new qualification, Nik is also qualified in: Level 4 Chronic Lower Back Pain, Active IQ Exercise Referral Level 3, CYQ Level 3 Personal Training.

Nik showcases his skills when he coaches our Junior Strength and Conditioning courses
