Squash & Racketball
The Centre has four squash courts including two with glass backs, all with excellent state of the art lighting. We have a flourishing in-house squash league, annual knockout competitions and a weekly club night. Our Squash programme includes drop-in sessions as well as individual lessons and regular courses to cater for all abilities.
Adult Squash Club Night
Our Monday Squash Club Night is run by our resident Squash Coach, Tom, as social occasions. These provide players with the opportunity to play against people of different abilities and Tom will also be available to give advice on how to improve your game. This session is open to both male and female players. Juniors are welcome at the coach’s discretion.
Monday | 18:00-21:00
Squash Improvers Club Night
The Improver Club Night includes 45 minutes of coaching and 45 minutes of game play. These sessions are designed for beginners/improvers or for those coming back to the game. The aim is to help bridge the gap between a less experienced player and our existing Club Night participants on a Monday. Males and females are welcome, juniors at the coach’s discretion. There’s no need to book, just turn up.
Friday | 18:00-19:30
Junior Squash Coaching Courses
Our Beginners courses offer an ideal introduction to the sport and are also suitable for those that can maintain a rally. The Intermediate sessions are for those that have a wider range of shots and a better understanding of tactics and game play. The Advanced sessions will look further at the development of technique, moving correctly, fitness and tactics.
Tuesday | 16:30-18:00 | Intermediate (improvers: 9+ years)
Thursday | 18:00-19:30 | Advanced (competent players: 9+ years)
Saturday | 09:00-10:30 | Beginners & Improvers (7+ years)
Our Junior courses run for 10-13 weeks at a time.
* Ages are for a guideline only as some players will progress with ability rather than age, our coach is more than happy to give further advice on this.
Junior Squash Leagues
We have two Junior Squash Teams playing in the Kent Junior Leagues and invite anyone wanting to play in the Junior Teams to come along to our coaching sessions and talk to our coach Tom. New players are welcome.
Racket-Fit is a fun activity class for everyone based on squash and racketball fitness, movements and skills. It’s a dynamic way to get fit and improve muscle tone. Both males and females, aged 16 and over are welcome. No squash playing experience is necessary. A typical class involves a warm up, fun drills and activities to develop squash and racketball skills and movements. Followed by a circuit, game based practices, a cool down and stretching to maintain and improve flexibility. Everybody is encouraged to work at their own level.
Monday | 10:00-11:00

These courses will provide the opportunity for individuals to learn and improve skills, keep fit and have fun. Courses are open to anyone aged 16 and over. In-House Squash Leagues
If you would like matches against different players or if you want to find a partner of the same ability, why not join our squash leagues? Simply join at the bottom and work your way up or enter a league of your choice. Each league consists of four players and you have a calendar month in which to play your games. Players will move up or down depending on the points they gain that month.
The King’s School Recreation Centre Men’s Teams are currently playing in the Kent South East Leagues. Any player who wishes to play in any of our teams are welcome to do so. Teams will be selected from where players stand within the squash ladder/leagues. The top players will be given the opportunity to play in the teams. Come down to Club Night and talk to Tom and the team captains if you are interested in playing for a team. We aim to run Team Training sessions for team members as well as those at a prospective team standard. The sessions include coaching and routines to help improve technique, tactics, plus conditioned games and fitness training. They will help players become more competent and consistent match players. These sessions run on demand and are arranged by Tom.

The game of Racketball is an ideal sport for all ages and is played on a standard squash court. Rules are similar to those of squash with slight variations; the rackets are slightly larger and the ball is bigger and bouncier, making it easier to get a rally going.
