Fitness Classes

 

Yoga

Yoga builds strength, encourages flexibility and helps manage stress through attentive breathing. We encourage lightness of spirit, inquiry and know that Yoga is available to each and every person who chooses it. Please wear light clothing and feel free to bring your own mat.

Wednesday and Friday morning classes include developing, varying and modifying poses and, occasionally, partner work.

Thursday daytime classes include breathing techniques, meditation and will help develop both strength and flexibility.

Sunday afternoon classes are quieter and calming, about both letting go and refreshing dormant energy. 

 

Seated Yoga

Within this seated class, there is simple-to-follow guidance, delivered with gentleness and humour. Concentrating on your awareness and ability in your breathing and movement. There is kindness and acceptance within difficult parts of your body and feel of progression away from this class.

Act_Large_Studio

Mat Pilates

Mat Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body. It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance.

 

Stretch

These classes will put your body through an array of stretches from head to toe, leaving you feeling relaxed but also enhancing your overall performance. Stretching will help injury prevention, muscle coordination and increase range of motion. Please warm up before attending these classes.

 

Strength and Stretch

This class will focus on functional mobility and strength movements with a full body stretch sequence to end every class. You can expect a range of bodyweight and weighted movements to progress your strength and complement any other training you may be doing during the week. You will learn each movement and follow a progressive training plan for each session.

 

Body to the Beat

A 45minute workout to the beat of the music, incorporating steps, weights and body weight exercises.

Studio Cycling

Classic

Take part in this fun and energetic class on a stationary cycle. The instructor will take you through a varied cycle journey building endurance, speed and power, not forgetting burning plenty of calories! It is advisable to arrive early to adjust your cycle, don’t forget to bring a drink and towel with you.

Coach by Color

Coach By Colour has five training zones: white, blue, green, yellow and red.

These zones are personalised to each individual depending on your FTP (Functional Threshold Power).

Virtual Studio Cycling

Immersive on-screen coach workouts, riding to world-class instruction and energising music. Virtual cycling classes vary between 45 – 55 minutes. 

The Three different program formats appeal to all kinds of abilities. No matter how much time you have or what class style you prefer, we’ve got it covered.

We recommend you complete an FTP Fitness Test before attending these classes to maximise and personalise your experience. You will also learn how to set your bike up to partake in coach by color classes.

Calisthenics Workshop

Our Calisthenics workshop is designed to help you learn and improve your strength for gymnastic style exercises, such as pull ups, handstands and push ups. You will learn the basic technique skills to perform these exercises safely and effectively no matter your current level, whether you’re working on that first push up or wanting to learn muscle ups! Calisthenics is very different to other strength disciplines and is an amazing way to master control of your body, using a wide range of equipment, such as pull up bars, gymnastics rings and parellette bars. We welcome all experience levels and encourage both men and women of all ages to join us in your Calisthenics journey!

 

Junior Strength & Conditioning

Our Junior Strength & Conditioning courses are designed to maximise sports performance. Participants (11-16yrs) will go through weightlifting, plyometrics and speed exercises along with core strength and flexibility. Our strength and conditioning coaches will design a training programme that will be individualised to the needs of the athlete and their sport.

Functional Fitness

This class is a full body workout centered around building strength, stability, mobility, and power. The aim is to train your muscles and joints to work together to perform everyday tasks, improve sports performance and reduce injury risk.

 

Abs, Core & More      

Core stability and strength training is essential not just for sporting performance but also for injury prevention. Abs, core and more consists of a range of different body weight and weighted exercises, focused towards improving all of the muscles associated with core strength, stability and endurance.

 

Total Body Conditioning

This class targets individual cardio fitness, core strengthening and complete body strengthening. The class is built around hand weight and body weight exercises which makes it suitable for all abilities.

X-Fit

Test your body with a vigorous conditioning workout consisting of high intensity free weight intervals. Each session is a unique workout, based around a combination of the best staple movements to shape your body and unlock it’s fitness potential. Our experienced instructor will be on hand to check form and posture and maintain your safety throughout.

 

Body Blast

This fast paced workout is high energy and motivating! Incorporating cardio segments, resistance training, and fitness equipment to blast your body into shape. You will be guided through each work out, finishing with a cool down and a gentle stretch. 

 

Racket-Fit

Racket-Fit is a fun activity class for everyone based on squash and racketball fitness, movements and skills. It’s a dynamic way to get fit and improve muscle tone. Both males and females, aged 16 and over are welcome. No squash playing experience is necessary. A typical class involves a warm up, fun drills and activities to develop squash and racketball skills and movements. Followed by a circuit, game based practices, a cool down and stretching to maintain and improve flexibility. Everybody is encouraged to work at their own level.

Deep Aqua Aerobics

Take the plunge with this rhythmic and dynamic exercise class, using a full range of movement incorporating cardiovascular training. You are supplied with a bouyancy belt to aid you with your exercises. 

 

Shallow Aqua

A workout in the pool which is ideal for all fitness levels. The water creates resistance and support, enabling a safe but effective workout.

 

Assisted Exercise Class

A whole body class aimed at improving function with the option to perform exercises either standing or seated. This class focuses on function, mobility and stamina and is particularly suitable for those wishing to maintaining function and improving independence. A very sociable group who can often be heard singing along during classes.

 

A-B-C (Agility – Balance – Conditioning)

This fun class is aimed at the over 50’s and incorporates traditional conditioning exercises, with a twist! Fundamental exercises, are complimented by exercises aimed at challenging balance and agility. You may find yourself standing on one leg whilst catching a ball! Great for falls prevention and for maintaining balance and coordination. This is a versatile class allowing individuals to work at their own level.

50+ Aerotone

A full body workout starting with an aerobic warm-up to the music, followed by whole body strengthening exercises and core work.

50+ Circuits

This Circuit class is a great way to improve your all round fitness in a social environment. Our instructor will guide you around the different exercises and help you work at a comfortable yet intense level.

50+ Functional

Improve your fitness, coordination and strength through resistance based exercises. Each session will be a full body workout using a mix of barbell, dumbbell and body weight exercises. It’s not about lifting heavy weights or completing a high number of repetitions but about being able to move your body, perform exercises with great technique and to prepare your body for everyday tasks.

AFL Gentle Circuits

These classes form phase 4 of the cardiac rehabilitation process and are physiologically sound in their conception. The classes are particularly suitable for those with cardiovascular disease, but have proven to be useful for clients with other conditions.

The aim of the class is to increase aerobic capacity, develop muscular endurance and promote increased functional capacity. The classes offer a variety of exercises around the room which can be adapted to allow for individual ability; this allows you to exercise at your own pace within a structured and supervised environment.
